I have had the pleasure of working with Tim over the years as I assign him placement drivers. Tim is very professional and always strives to do the program correctly and goes above and beyond to help the placement drivers be successful. When placement drivers finish the program with Tim, they fill out an evaluation on how he did teach them as a new driver. Tim has received praise from all his past placement drivers and they have put extra comments like "he takes extra time on his days off to help with extra backing."

Tim is very nice to work with and calls to discuss ways he can improve or help other leaders. For example, in the first week of the program, leaders must do 25 hours of observing the placement drivers while they drive. This can be a challenge on some accounts. Tim figured out a way to safely do this and offered to show other leaders on the account how to do it.

Tim will be a great asset to any roll he does.

Darien Green

My name is Darien Green, a former over the road professional commercial driver with Werner Enterprise Inc. Currently I am now a CDL instructor, I was assigned to Timothy, who was an experienced lead driver and OTR driver trainer when I came to Werner from completing my official CDL driver training school program.

Timothy was my OTR instructor and mentor to guide and assist me through a very structured commercial driving course and he trained me in all areas of FMCSA and DOT policies, rules and regulations as well as the company policies and procedures for Werner Enterprise and through his guidance my career with Werner flourished.

I came to Werner in 2021 and till this day he might not be my current trainer but he will always be a good mentor for me because he has so much knowledge on life but also the trucking industry and since then I have become an ambassador for Werner like he was, I have made the "FREEDOM FLEET" team and following his career guidance, I am now one of the instructors at the very same school that I completed my official CDL training with a bright future for advancement.

Being ex-military myself, I expected the best from my OTR trainer and Timothy, through his vast knowledge of the industry, training and mentoring has guided me to this day and following his advice over the past few years has greatly improved not only my quality of life as a professional commercial driver, but it has assisted me in positioning my career in this industry to move forward as to my needs and not backwards is a great guy dependable guy and I am glad to call him my friend.

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Willie Copes I was placed with Tim as my lead driver to my OTR in truck training and mentoring lead driver Timothy Stokes-Haynes by driver placement once I had completed my orientation at Werner Enterprises.

Unlike most of the new drivers at Werner, I was very fortunate to have been placed on Tim's unit under his guidance as well as his mentorship because Tim not only calmly and professionally mentored me in all aspects of company policy and procedures and he also instructed me regarding DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations, general safe and best practice work performance.

Tim has a great communication skill set, I listened in on and looked at his communications not only with our fleet management team, but road breakdown when we had equipment issues, the customers that we picked up and delivered to and he always maintained a professional demeanor, Tim, unlike most drivers and trainers for Werner always wore his company lead driver uniform which I thought was very professional and he also sent me an introductory email prior to coming on his truck outlining exactly what my OTR training would be so I was aware of what to expect from him, the company as well as my own level of participation.

Tim is a great lead driver trainer and I still call on him to this date and he is always there to assist me to be the best, safest and most professional CDL driver possible.
